As I arrived in the Adirondack Mountains I decided to find a open area to photograph. I originally wanted to go to the top of Whiteface Mountain which was closed for the night so I ended up in the North Pole parking lot at Wilmington, NY. This is the first time I actually saw and captured the northern lights. They were not that strong and did not last long but I made the best of the situation. I let my camera shoot all night while I tried to sleep in the back of my car. I took my 50mm lens and did a 5 shot panorama when the lights seemed to be peaking! Mike Ver Sprill is an artist and photographer who lives his life to the beat of his own drum. He loves to venture out to distant and remote areas just to capture a single photograph. Driving for hours and sometimes days with very little sleep, those are the moments when he realizes his passion has become an obsession. Mike's work has been featured in a National Geographic, Weather.com - Stargazer, Photography Week magazine and several New Jersey's Travel Guides. He has dubbed himself Milky Way Mike, however his photography career goes way beyond the night sky. Michael started his photography journey off and on at the age of 17, slowly molding into the artist he is today. He enjoys a challenge and creating new photography techniques....
