People often ask me how I afford to travel so much. The truth is... I can't so I improvise. I'll drive instead of fly (even if it is on the other side of the country), I'll eat PB&J sandwiches, granola bars, fruit and just drink water for a couple weeks.. only occasionally getting a restaurant meal. I'll stay in the cheapest motels, pitch a tent or car camp (sometimes in below freezing temperatures). I'll lug around all my gear and wear the same clothes a few days in a row to save space and reduce weight. It is not a glamorous lifestyle like my pictures make it seem. It is the most humbling and rewarding experience when I rough it for a few weeks then return back to what most of us take for granted... I am that Backpacker and I will continue exploring until I can't walk anymore! Photo taken at Acadia National Park, Maine. Watermark not on any products.
Mike Ver Sprill is an artist and photographer who lives his life to the beat of his own drum. He loves to venture out to distant and remote areas just to capture a single photograph. Driving for hours and sometimes days with very little sleep, those are the moments when he realizes his passion has become an obsession. Mike's work has been featured in a National Geographic, Weather.com - Stargazer, Photography Week magazine and several New Jersey's Travel Guides. He has dubbed himself Milky Way Mike, however his photography career goes way beyond the night sky. Michael started his photography journey off and on at the age of 17, slowly molding into the artist he is today. He enjoys a challenge and creating new photography techniques....
